Proceed to Vat Xieng Thong, the most beautiful temples of Luang Prabang dating back from 16th century. Start by the colorful fresh market then walk to the national museum (the former king’s palace). Visit Vat Mai with its five tiered roof and exquisite carved veranda. Walk through the small lanes, passing the Fine Arts school to Vat Sene, quite an beautiful temple, the perfect place to pray or meditate. Lunch at “L’Elephant”.Afternoon transfer to the local pier to cross the Mekong River. Walk through Xiene Men village then climb up to Vat Chomphet with an outstanding view over Luang Prabang and continue to Vat Longkhoune with its beautiful mural paintings. Cross back Mekong and time at leisure in the city to visit Hmong market, shop etc. Dinner in a restaurant. Overnight at the hotel in Laung Prabang.

Breakfast at hotel.Transfer to the local pier of Luang Prabang and board a traditional boat. Go upstream on the Mekong river and visit the sacred Buddha caves, Tham Ting and Tham Phoum housing hundred of Buddha statues. Cross the Mekong to Pak Ou village and drive to Pakmong then continue to Ban Na Yang, maybe the most beautiful Lu village. Villagers grow tobacco and women dye and weave wonderful fabric. Houses are big with interwoven bamboo walls making beautiful designs. Picnic lunch.Continue to Oudomxai by car, passing beautiful mountainous landscape. On the way stop at Ban Song Cha and walk through the biggest Hmong village in Laos. Arrive Oudomxay and transfer to That Phouxay overlooking the city and surroundings. Dinner in a restaurant. Overnight at the hotel in Laung Prabang.

Breakfast at hotel.Excursion by car to Luang Namtha. Road is more and more mountainous with Hmong villages built on the crest. Stop on the way to visit villages. Lunch at a local restaurant at Ban Nateuy. Close to Luang Namtha visit Ban Nam Dee, a Lanten village where people still live in a very traditional way, women make indigo, spin and dye cotton and weave. Arrive Luang Namtha end of afternoon and check in the Boat Landing Guesthouse. Dinner and accommodation at the Boat Landing.

Breakfast at hotel.Cruise down on Namtha river by long tail motor boat for about 2 hours and explore the daily life of different minorities. Your guide will explain you the customs of each minority. Visit the colorful market of Muang Sing, and then return to the guesthouse for breakfast. Excursion by car to Xiengkok 70 kms through beautiful sceneries of mountains, villages and rice fields. Stop in Iko village. Embark on a speedboat (maximum 4 pax) on Mekong river to Houeixay. Pass beautiful landscape and sceneries along the river. Picnic lunch. Arrive in Houeixay in afternoon. After clearance at Lao customs take a ferry boat and cross Mekong to reach Chiang Khong (Thailand) before 17h00.
