6This is a very short tour of Sabah in northern Borneo which is part of Malaysia. It takes you to the Kinabalu National Park where you can see majestic Mt Kinabalu so close it seems to be touchable from where you are. The trip goes to Poring Hotspring just outside the national park and to Ranau and Kundasang. Then a short flight lands us in Sandakan made famous by Agnes Keith's wartime novel from where we travel to experience the sanctuary for orang-utans in Sepilok and immerse ourselves in the thick equatorial rainforest of Sukau-Kinabatangan looking for wildlife. The adventure heightens with a Sunday visit to the Tamu in Kota Belud where ethnic communities gather to buy and sell, and peaks with an experience of the Rungus longhouse in Kudat, the northernmost point of North Borneo.
